She graduated as valedictorian in 2001 from her high school in Wellington, Florida, and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in economics from Duke.
During the study She became a master of chess and even brain games just like the Rubik's cube and alternative puzzles. Her mind was strategic and unmoving in determination puzzles and this could contribute later to her nice poker career.
Vanessa started playing sit and gos with $250 purses at a local casino. She used her winnings to parlay it all the way into her first World Poker Tour event, where she immediately made an image for herself as the girl with headphones, sunglasses and a hat pulled low.
Her biggest cash thus far came when she clinched a second-place finish in the 2007 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker main event, worth more than $700,000
Her second-biggest cash was for a win in a no-limit preliminary event at the 2006 WPT Borgata Open which earned her more than $285,000
During one year on the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour circuits, Rousso has already become one of the top-25 female money earners of all time.
Vanessa is also an avid blackjack player, often spotted at the high limit tables at the Bellagio, hat tightly pulled down over her face.
