Maria Ho is a Professional Poker Player and TV personality. With over 1.6 million dollars in tournament poker earnings she is currently ranked the 3rd female poker player in the world.
Growing up in a musically gifted family, she developed a love for singing and performing. She learned to play many instruments as a child, including piano and violin. At the University of California, San Diego she sang in an a capella group, performed in musicals, and even performed with her sister’s band around Los Angeles.
Outside of poker, Maria is known for appearances on the Emmy Award winning 15th season of The Amazing Race, and made it to the "Hollywood Week" rounds on season three of American Idol.
Was a member of the UC San Diego a cappella group, the DOTs.
As of 2011 was ranked the 12th worldwide among female poker pros in overall tournament earnings.
Broke the record in 2011 for the largest cash a female has ever had at the World Series of Poker with her $540,020 payday (2nd place finish) in the WSOP $5,000 NL event.
What do you do when you’re not playing poker? - Maria: "Wow that really sums up all my free time, ha-ha. Honestly, I try to have a pretty separate life outside of poker. That includes helping my parents out with their real estate business and spending time with family and friends who don’t know what a bad beat is and could care less! Oh and definitely shopping!"
